President Richard M. Englert

Richard M. Englert was appointed president of Temple University on Sept. 26, 2023. 

Englert, who joined Temple in 1976 as an assistant to the dean of the College of Education, has a rich history of leadership at the university. This marks Englert’s third term as Temple’s chief executive officer, previously serving as president from 2016 to 2021, and acting president for six months in 2012. The Board of Trustees originally appointed him as chancellor in 2012, and again after his service as the 11th president in 2021.

He continues to contribute to Temple's academic community as a professor in the College of Education and Human Development.
